WELLINGTON COUNTY – Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington is hosting their annual shredding event this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 201 Woodlawn Road West (Skyjack parking lot) in Guelph.

The event aims to help prevent identity theft and enables the professional shredding of personal and/or business documents.

Sarah Bowers-Peter Crime Stoppers Program Coordinator says this event will be held in a drive-thru format.

Bowers-Peter says they accept any type of documentation that includes banking information, social insurance numbers or other key government-issued information.

Whether for personal shredding or for small businesses, the documents will be destroyed professionally on site.

The cost is $5 per bank box. Cash, debit or credit will be accepted.

Bowers-Peter says all funds raised at this event will go to Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington.
