There are some pretty interesting and unique things to do in Celina, Texas.

ICYMI (this is “in case you missed it” for those less inclined to digital shorthand), Celina, Texas is booming. You’ve heard of their residential development, and you’ve either taken advantage of it and moved there some time ago, or you’re intrigued and want to learn more about life in Celina.

As always, we’re here to help. While it is true that Celina has grown in both population and business, the once rural town of Celina maintains the heartbeat of a small town. Here you’ll find lovely small businesses, fun activities, great people to meet, and fun things to do.

Take the time to try some of these things to do in Celina’s Hidden Gems – Collin County. (Some aren’t that hidden away, but there’s still a chance you missed them!)

Specializing in farm-to-table dishes, Chef Joey from Table and market in grilled walnut seems to be having fun creating his American scratch kitchen in the historic Celina Square. The photos on their Facebook page speak for themselves, but here is your result – the menu is unabashedly rich and cheesy and creative. The interior is a bit of a modern farmhouse style, and a large message on the wall suggests that you “Enjoy life … it’s delicious.”

This quaint restaurant is perhaps the best or at least one of the best restaurants in Celina. Add it to your activities in the Celina list!

This charming boutique in Celina’s historic town center square offers a mix of home, fashion and local crafts. Annie jack is owned by two Celina residents who believe that each person is created with divine worth. You will feel this love as soon as you walk into the store. Stop to shop, sightsee, have a drink in the espresso bar or relax in the courtyard.

Walking around the historic city center square is an essential thing to do in Celina. Don’t miss Annie Jack like you do.

Rollertown Brewery

So I recognize that Rollertown Brewery is not exactly hidden. The locals know it and they love it… hence the Cool Merch section on their website. The popular brasserie and brasserie are open from Wednesday to Sunday and offer very good food and beers. They invite food trucks to hang on site and organize musical and humorous evenings from time to time. Children and dogs are welcome, everyone is having fun.

This hot spot has to be one of the best things to do in Collin County.

This place has Celina written all over it. Truly Texan, Lucy is in the square offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and a homemade pie. The fun local favorite is located in a brick building over 100 years old in downtown Celina. Inside you’ll find Texas-themed trinkets and a fantastic menu of comfort food.

It’s not a store, it’s not a restaurant, and it’s not a bar, it’s one of the best things to do in Celina. Little wooden penguin is a “space of experience” which encompasses each of these things, more putt putt golf, live music and a scrumptious bar. With 28 spinning craft beer taps, draft wine, daily food trucks and unique retail, LWP takes pleasure in surprising its guests. Their style is industrial chic meets farmhouse, and their custom handcrafted furniture is not to be missed.

Anything with “fixins” in the name must be owned and operated by Texans, right? It’s true of Fixins Burger, a family business that has been in existence since 1993. They offer fresh grilled burgers, chicken dishes, barbecued beef brisket, okra and homemade fried pies. This downtown Celina staple is the place to eat.

I’m not sure if we can technically call Burger Fixins a restaurant, but if we could, we would add it to our list of Celina’s best restaurants. Add this to your list of things to do in Celina.

Held on the first Friday of each month, from March to November, Celina’s Friday night market is a great way to go out, shop local, eat delicious food, and listen to live music. These free outdoor markets are held downtown and have something for everyone. Live music rotates monthly with various local artists of various genres.

Additionally, Celina’s fire department vibrates with a flash mob “Thriller” dance performance.

Celina Cajun Fest

The other big Celina festival is the Celina Cajun Fest which attracts over 13,000 visitors each year. This annual event features lots of crayfish, shopping, activities for the kids and more including a live alligator show!
