La Colline is home | The Set List with DC Music Live: Week of July 21, 2021

0

Welcome to the fourth edition of The Set List! My name is NG (Naomi-Grace) Panlaqui. With Nameer Rizvi, we are the Hill East-based developer couple behind Live DC Music, a mobile app that brings together live and virtual music events in DC. Every alternate Wednesday, expect a list of upcoming shows on and off the Hill for the next two weeks, reviews of past shows, and more.

Last weekend

DMV Summers seems more complete when you have the chance to lounge on the Wolf Trap lawn while listening to music. Picnic blanket ready? Check out the wolf trap calendar here or filter on the “Wolf Trap” location filter on the DC Music Live mobile app to see upcoming shows. Full capacity shows start in August.

Local artists

Ari Voxx singing “Rather be in the Clouds” to listeners at Navy Yard with Sam Ojalvo on guitar and Aaron Ivey on drums, 6/23/21. Always provided by NG Panlaqui, video provided by Ariana Harbin

We met Ari Voxx on Instagram while browsing the hashtag #dcmusic and got stuck on her lyrics and vocal styles. Also known as Ariana Harbin, this was the first in-person performance of Ari since her 40s. The song “Rather be in the Clouds” is a song from her EP “Letters to Myself” which will be released in October.

About the Set List

The Set List is written by NG (Naomi-Grace) Panlaqui, half of the developer couple behind Live DC Music, where you can find aggregated music shows happening near you by neighborhood, location or metro line. We’re partnering with The Hill Is Home to provide upcoming shows on and off the Hill, show reviews and more.

Supporting and promoting the places and artists who bring us live music to our beloved city has become of great importance, especially in the wake of the pandemic. If you’re at a show, take a photo and let us know! #DCMusicLive
