MSU’s Morgan Evans selected as Big Sky Female Track Athlete of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah – The Montana State Track and Field Team received another Big Sky Conference Weekly Award on Monday as Morgan Evans earned league Female Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Evans won the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the Tom Gage Classic on Saturday in Missoula. Her time of 13.98 seconds is the third best she has achieved this outdoor season. The time would rank in the top four on Big Sky’s performance list. She was also part of the Bobcats 4×100 relay team which, at Dornblaser Field, placed first with a time of 46.56.

The Great Falls native’s best outdoor season time — and best ever mark — of 13.63 set at Idaho State’s Davis Field on April 29 has her second on the performance list. of Big Sky. The mark also has Evans 48th on the West Region performance list and second all-time on Montana State’s top 10.

MSU’s men’s and women’s teams combined to win nine weekly prizes during the 2022 outdoor season. Lucy Corbett and Duncan Hamilton have each been honored twice. Joining Evans with a selection as the weekly winner was Elena Carter, Camila NoeDrake Schneider and Colby Wilson.

The Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships begin Wednesday in Pocatello, Idaho with multiple events. The individual events portion of the competition begins at 10 a.m. on Friday.
